Today Rumboldswhyke was visited by a local fire crew complete with their very exciting fire engine. The children had the opportunity to sit in the cab and find out about the equipment on board. In the classroom the fire personnel explained about their protective clothing and their day to day roles in the community that help to keep us safe. They spoke about fire prevention, putting fires out, helping with flood relief and making our homes safer. They made children think very hard about what they would do if a smoke alarm went off in their house in the middle of the night. The children had some really interesting questions, what a great visit!
