To launch our Keystage 1 topic, Up, up and away. the children visited Chichester College to have the experience of 'flying and being in an aeroplane'. They boarded the Chichester Airways flight at the Chichester airport! The air hostesses showed them to their seat on the plane and made sure that they watched the air safety instructions carefully. During the 'flight' the children watched a film about the seven continents and seas/oceans of the world. Before the children knew it, once they had had a drink and a snack, it was time to land again. Great fun was had by all! child with the aeroplane children in aeroplane
The Association of Friends of Rumboldswhyke School held a Cheese and Wine fundraising evening. Mr Greg James provided a selection of interesting cheeses, wines, a cider and a stout for us to try with bread and crackers. It was a jolly evening! Thanks to Greg and our supporters, we have raised £632, which has enabled us to purchase more library books and pay for a Zoolab minibeast visit. cheese and wine evening

It was great to see our children dressed up for World Book Day. As usual we had some interesting and creative costumes. The children enjoyed stories read to them by adults that work and help in school.

The Early Years Reception children have been finding out about people who are heroes in our community. It was very exciting when the fire engine and ambulance visited school. PC Pack also came to school and told us about her work as a policewoman. She bought with her all sorts of different police hats which the children enjoyed trying on. Back in the classroom our young new' paramedics' practised their skills!

The last week of term was a very busy one. The children performed the Easter story beautifully in church. Father Tim was impressed at the children's confidence and understanding of this important Christian event. To celebrate the end of term the children enjoyed an Easter disco complete with games, dancing and the all important Easter Egg Hunt! The children went home clutching their eggs and their wonderful hand made Easter cards Child with Easter card Easter Card
