The children made vehicles out of 2D shapes. They then recorded the number of shapes they used on a whiteboard.
Children have also been sorting toys using the sorting trays. Some children sorted by shape and others by colour
Our teddies have been snug and warm! The children have been making beds for them and have decorated the blanket with repeating patterns.
We have also been learning to order our numbers. We pretended to be train drivers and then had to put all our carriages in the right order.
The children have made biscuits and loved decorating them with lots of yummy ingredients. They also decorated a plate for their biscuit to go on. The children enjoyed a special time in the hall having a teddy bear's picnic. They ate their biscuit from their special plate and of course shared it with their teddy!
We have been celebrating the Chinese New Year. In the classroom the children had a Chinese restaurant role play and had great fun serving 'delicious' meals! We made a dragon headress which the children wore during dance and movement. They took turns between playing Gamelan instruments and being part of the dragon.
Outside we have been using toys to make forms of transport. Wooden bricks are great for making aeroplanes, magnets are good for rockets and lego is especially fun for making space ships.
We have also been using the bikes and scooters to see how quickly they get us around the playground.
The children have used wheels and 2D shapes to create moving pictures. Some are even symmetrical.
